Tomohiro Idokoro

poetry

In the garden, chrysanthemums
quietly keep their own counsel –
Heads pressed together
in closed confidence

Some time later and still that smell
holding me by the fingertips
I have washed all the dishes
I have washed my hands, too.
Dishes dry in the rack.

The sour smell of butter.
