The Smart Young Man Who Ordered Earl Grey

poetry

He placed his tea tray on the small table
then sat down placing one leg over the other.
The configuration was more indicative
of a conscious effort to appear delicate
  than true mere delicacy.

It placed her at her ease
where a more analytical
  or suspicious young woman
would have placed herself
that much more on her guard.
